FAQ's
Q: I would like to join Agee's Gym but can't seem to contact anyone or find any information. How do I join?
A: Well... There is the option of making an appointment to come by and see what we have or even Train on a pay by the visit approach on the days this can be accommodated. You could also call or email me if I can answer questions for you in that manner. Also, you can come with an existing member who you know and Train with them. Lastly, you could schedule some Personal Training/Coaching appointments.
Q: I'm not interested in bodybuilding or powerlifting, is Agee's Gym going to fit a person who just wants to improve their health and quality of life?
A: That's why we are here! We have helped numerous people move better through their daily lives after injuries or illnesses. So many people talk about how much better they feel after only a few weeks (sometimes only days). And then there are the people who have been able to reduce or do away with their prescription medications (under their doctors care!). Improvements can be made in blood pressure, blood sugar, bone density, balance, coordination, etc. Agee's Gym has actually been able to save people money!!
Q: Do you have any different pricing if couples join?
A: We have very limited space and, therefore, memberships. We are not in the business of selling memberships; we are helping people reach training/fitness goals on a personal level (everyone has different wants and needs and there are different price packages). We do referrals and reduce the price by $5 per month per referral, or we have discounts and streamlined packages - such as the Strength Training Only Option or Group Personal Training.
Q: How does the key membership work and how does one go about getting this??
A: The key membership allows one to basically have 24/7 access to the gym. First, I will need to know you or get to know you, referrances will help, and coming in during posted hours to train is a great start. We only do about 70 of these memberships, so, if we are at capacity on memberships, you'll need to contact me and get your name on a waiting list.
Q: An e-mail question and response...
Hey Scott - Hadn't looked at your website before so I was checking it out - looks great! I've been thinking about trying to get myself in shape - will certainly be a job! But - I think that I do need some help such as some personal training - how do I go about setting up some time to do this?
A: ...The Personal Training is done by appointment. Call, e-mail, or stop by and we'll schedule an appointment. The cost is $15 per 30 minute (or so) session and consists of 8-10 movements that will fix any body. I'll teach and critique these and also give parameter (sets and reps) suggestions.
Thanks,
Scott
Q: Do you offer distance coaching or phone consultations?
A: Sure!! Shoot me an e-mail and we will work something out. One of my recent clients is down 6% bodyfat in 2 months (lost 18.9 lbs of bodyfat!!), and only comes by for BodyFat Analysis. He follows my dietary and exercise guidelines and is making tremendous progress.
Q: I really want to keep my resolutions for exercise this year, any advice?
A: Both exercise and nutrition are matters of consistency and moderation. I remind people that it is what you are consistently doing day-in and day-out a month down the road that really counts, not how bad you can make yourself hurt today. Don't kill yourself with 2 hours of activity (especially if you are starting with no base!!) a day until you can't take any more, hurt yourself, or get bored. Choose activities that you enjoy, put in 15 or 20 minutes of easy work and build upon this until you are at your desired level of activity which will vary depending upon your goal(s).
Q: It's March and Bathing Suit Season is almost here, what can I do to tone-up?
A: Many people want to "tone-up" for the Spring and Summer when fewer clothes are worn and more of us are revealed, but this is simply a term meaning to reduce ones bodyfat and, in some cases, increase muscle tissue. An easy way to alter your diet in a very healthy way is to eliminate high fructose corn syrups, trans fats, and hydrogenated fats - don't buy or eat anything that lists even one of these as an ingredient. This alone will help reduce bodyfat. Including strength and aerobic training, which should be a part of your lifestyle along with healthy eating, will aid by burning extra calories as well as increasing your health and well-being in many other ways. Contact us if we can help with any or all of these components and bathing suit season should be enjoyable for all of us!
